Both companies have now come out with upgraded warranties for their architectural (laminated) shingles. Both roofing companies offer a limited lifetime warranty on those shingles.
A roof has to perform two very important functions.
It has to protect your home from all of the varied types of weather that come along. From the extreme cold and icy weather of winter to the hot baking sun in the summer. It has to prevent water from coming inside and ruining ceilings, walls and the structural integrity of the house.

IKO has just announced that all IKO Architectural (laminated) shingles installed on or after February 1, 2011 on an Owner's single family residential home qualify for the Limited Warranty enhancement to a Lifetime Limited Warranty.
IKO has further enhanced their architectural shingle warranty by upgrading the Iron Clad protection from 5 to 15 years. IKO has also upgraded their wind resistance warranty.
